The Stockholm archipelago has been listed one of the most unique places to visit in 2025 by National Geographic. The Stockholm archipelago consists of over 30,000 islands. Around 90 of the islands are inhabited year-round, but during summer many more come to life as seasonal residents and visitors turn them in to holiday havens.
On some of the larger islands are very vibrant, with grocery shops, inviting cafes, restaurants, hotels and B&Bs, but just as many islands are untouched gems where silence reigns – the Stockholm archipelago has it all.
We at Charterbolaget offer guided tours, from Arholma in the north of the archipelago to Landsort in the south. For the ultimate experience we use mainly RIBs (Rigid Inflatble Boats). RIBs are light-weight, high performance powerboats with a solid hull, and inflatable tubes around the outer edge. The seakeeping, stability, speed of the RIB design is well proven and undeniable. RIBs are excellent to maneuver in tight spaces and the low profile will carry you just above the surface of the water, making it possible to get really close to nature. Moving fast also allows us to travel far and experience more.
A tour of the archipelago from the sea is a great way to explore Sweden with your family, friends or colleagues. We can suggest ready-made guided tour options as well as tailored boat experiences just the way You want it, be it an open sea adventure, a visit to a unique island restaurant or a picknick on a secluded island when the sun sets. We, Patrik and Mattias, are the founders and guides behind Charterbolaget. With extensive experience sailing and operating motorboats both in Sweden and abroad, we are certified boat masters licensed to carry up to 12 guests at high speed. We also bring years of experience from the business world, adding professionalism and insight to every tour.

Best guided tours of the Archipelago.
At Charterbolaget we want to offer more than just a boat ride, our tours are guided experiences filled with fascinating insights about the places we pass, wildlife and the maritime history of the Stockholm Archipelago. We want to bring the experience to life – with engaging stories about places, people and nature that we encounter along the way.
We mainly guide from RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), specially built to offer fast, safe, and unforgettable adventures through the archipelago. With a maximum of 12 guests per boat, you get a close and personal experience with our knowledgeable guides.
Not all tours are about speed, but our boats can reach speeds of over 40 knots (80 km/h), and we make sure you’re properly equipped to enjoy the ride – whether it’s rain, shine, or winter chill. Warm weatherproof overalls and goggles are available, when needed
Safety is our top priority. Before we leave the harbor, we always go through a safety briefing and make sure everyone is fitted with a life jacket. Our captains are experienced professionals, specially trained in high-speed navigation.
